Flow State: A Weekend Workshop

All Levels Yoga + Meditation

Led by Tara Judelle

This workshop is designed to help bring practitioners into a state of flow by working in areas in the body that are proven to relate to optimal states of flow - similar to musicians being in the pocket or athletes being “in the zone.” There will be asana, meditation, free movement and partner work all with the intention to deliver us into the state of flow that creates easeful, optimal dance through life.

Sample Daily Schedule

The daily schedule will be subject to change based on the day and the needs of the participants.

Saturday Morning: (2.5 hours) MADHYA – Described as the space between breaths, the gap between thoughts, the Madhya, is like the darkness of the night sky that holds the brilliance of the stars. In this opening class, we will move through a slow flow of shapes and forms from the space of the middle to create a fluid meditative space in the vocabulary of form.

Saturday Afternoon:(2.5 hours) RECIPROCITY– The bridge between our individual self and the interrelatedness to the outer environment. This class looks at creating the three-dimensional container of self, finding support in both the inner and outer space. We will play through arm balances and backbends in flow creating buoyancy and integrity through the feedback that keeps the inner and outer environment in constant knowing of one another.

Sunday Morning: (2.5 hours) RESILIENCY– To establish and open new pathways in the body and followed by movement through standing pose flows- this class invites one to open up new possibilities of potential inner rivers in order to find new vocabulary for the body. Working in partners and transitioning into more innovative flow sequences this class will tickle your bodies desire to utilize your entire self and to rebound and restructure and renew.

Sunday Afternoon (2.5 hours) FLOW– pouring ourselves into moment to moment presence allows the full spectrum of our awareness to be harnessed by what we are doing. The subject and object in states of flow can merge, creating a time/space blur. Moving our meditation into movement gives us a repeatable practice to glide with more presence and ease through transitions.
